Professional Dota 2 player Neta '33' Shapira commented on his move from Team Liquid to Tundra Esports. According to the esports athlete, he wanted to reunite with Martin 'Saksa' Sazdov and also create his team. Shapira shared his thoughts in an interview with content creator Morf and Paragon Events at PGL Wallachia 2024 Season 2.
He mentioned that he made the decision to leave Liquid well before The International (TI), spending several weeks contemplating his next steps. This decision was made during the time between a tournament in Peru and TI. He aimed to decide on his future before TI to avoid making an emotional decision under pressure. He noted that TI had changed due to its reduced prize pool, though it remained a significant tournament of the year. If one performs well, everyone is happy, but poor performance can create a negative atmosphere.
Shapira expressed that he wanted to avoid emotional influences during the tournament, preferring to make a clear decision beforehand. He was not firmly committed and had not signed any contracts, which allowed him the flexibility to choose.
When asked about his reasons for the move, he cited the desire to play with Saksa again and to try something new. While he enjoyed his time with Liquid, he felt that it wasn’t his team; he was part of an already established roster. In contrast, he felt a sense of belonging with Tundra, where he could contribute to building something new.
Shapira returned to Tundra Esports after a year with Team Liquid, where he won The International 2024. Following this achievement, he formed a new roster with Egor 'Saika' Grigorenko, Artem 'Lorenof' Melnik, Martin 'Saksa' Sazdov, and Matthew 'Whitemon' Filemon.
