Off-laner for Team Liquid, Neta '33' Shapiro, and the team's coach, William 'Blitz' Lee, discussed the outcomes of several matches during the Riyadh Masters 2024 in their team vlog on YouTube.
Regarding their defeat to Entity from Europe with a 0:2 scoreline in the group stage, Shapiro noted that they simply did not perform well enough. He explained that while the first map was manageable, they made a few mistakes. The second map was more challenging, but they could have won if they had played better; however, Entity played exceptionally well.
In the lower final match against MENA's Team Falcons, Blitz shared that skiter from Slovakia had messaged him saying there was no need to worry about coming second, as they wouldn't even reach that stage. Blitz dismissed the concern, calling them "clowns" and asserting it would be an easy match for them.
Regarding their loss in the grand final, Blitz admitted that despite giving their all, it was not enough to secure victory. Shapiro addressed his teammates, expressing that they could have won easily and that they should not doubt their ability to beat their opponents. He added that while the tournament was decent, such setbacks can happen.
The Riyadh Masters 2024 took place from July 4 to 21 in Saudi Arabia, with participants competing for a prize pool of $5 million.
