Former esports player Pavel "9Pasha" Khvastunov gave advice on the proper item builds in Dota 2. He recommends not blindly copying professional players but using one's own judgment.
"Guys, don't just buy items for no reason. When you see what pro players are buying, think with your own head. You play Dota for hours. You clearly know better what to buy on the hero you grind. It's better than copying the pros and saying, 'He bought Mage Slayer in the tournament, so I'll do the same.' Guys, don't do that under any circumstances," advised Pavel "9Pasha" Khvastunov.

9Pasha has not played professionally since September 2022 after leaving Pari Parni. Throughout 2023, Khvastunov worked as an analyst for tournament broadcasts, including regional DPC and The International 2023. At the end of 2023, he announced that he is unlikely to resume his playing career and is not ready to become a coach.
