BetBoom Team coach Anatoly "boo1k" Ivanov explained why the team parted ways with Ivan "Pure~" Moskalenko. He admitted that the Russian player did not want to continue playing the third position in Dota 2.
"Nightfall wanted to play carry because he realized that the third position wasn't for him. He didn't like how he played on it. Yegor understood that he wasn't performing well and couldn't realize his potential. He told us about it.
We had to choose: either to find a new 'three' or come up with something. Pure~ kindly agreed to play off-lane. We didn't force him. We talked, and he said he was willing to try. And it started to work.
At some point, Vanya realized the same thing. He didn't want to develop on the 'three' and said he wanted to be a carry. This happened after the Riyadh Masters 2023. We had a big problem again: how can we solve this situation? Before TI, we didn't think about a reshuffle, but after it, yes. We had to choose: either Pure~ or Nightfall. We discussed it a lot. We have a good personal relationship with him. He needed it too," explained Anatoly "boo1k" Ivanov.
Tundra Esports and BetBoom Team agreed on Pure~'s loan in January 2024. Instead of Moskalenko, the Eastern European team signed Matvey "MieRo" Vasyunin. The updated roster has yet to win a major LAN tournament.
Earlier, Ivanov admitted that the BetBoom Team stopped working with a psychologist. He said that the specialist did not help the team.
