Changes on the Professional Dota 2 Scene: K1's Return and Malady's Transfer

The professional Dota 2 scene continues to evolve as two players from different regions announce new chapters in their careers.

K1’s Return with Team Gato

Peruvian esports player Héctor "K1" Rodríguez is making his return to competitive play with a new team, Team Gato. Joining K1 in the roster are:

  • Veniamin "xn丶e" Smirnov,
  • CodeX,
  • Rodrigo "Lelis" Santos,
  • Leonardo "Panda" Hernández.

The team is set to compete in the second open qualifiers for FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade 2025 in the Americas region. The tournament, taking place on 14–15 December, will award two slots in the closed qualifiers.

Previously, K1 represented Heroic from January 2024, but after The International 2024 , the player and organisation parted ways as K1 decided to take a break from his career. Now, with his return, K1 is ready for new challenges with Team Gato.

Malady Joins L1ga Team

Kazakhstani player Arman "Malady" Orazbayev has also announced his next career move, joining L1ga Team, as confirmed by the organisation. Malady replaces Nikita "Panto" Balaganin, who recently signed with Chimera Esports.

Before joining L1ga Team , Malady briefly played for Aurora Gaming, but his stint was short-lived, as he left the team less than a month after joining.

The current L1ga Team roster includes:

  • Alexander "you << " Pak,
  • Miras "Mirage" Mutanov,
  • Albert "Alberkaaa" Chernoivanov,
  • Arman "Malady" Orazbayev.

The team is actively seeking a player for the position four role to complete their lineup.
