Club Owners from Southeast Asia Reveal Their Earnings and Expenses for Dota 2 Rosters

Several owners of organizations from Southeast Asia have disclosed how much money they spend on maintaining Dota 2 teams. The annual budget ranges from $300,000 to $500,000. The executives preferred to remain anonymous.

Player salaries range from $1,000 to $10,000. The main expense is the upkeep of the gaming house or bootcamp rental. During training camps, clubs also pay for chefs, psychologists, and other staff who assist in the training process.

According to the owners, expenses for Western European organizations are several times higher. They may spend $50,000 to $100,000 per month. These figures do not include transfers, which can reach up to $200,000.

The primary income for clubs comes from sponsorship deals. In Southeast Asia, these deals range from $100,000 to $1 million. Organizations also take 10-20% of the prize money earned. In-game bundles used to bring in $30,000 to $40,000 per year, but Valve has reduced this income.
