DreamLeague Season 24 is an online Dota 2 tournament scheduled to take place from 27 October 2024 to 10 November 2024, with a prize pool of $1,000,000. The event will feature 16 teams, with 9 teams receiving direct invites based on their standings in the EPT rankings, and 7 teams qualifying through regional tournaments.
Participants:
- 16 teams total:
- 9 teams from the EPT leaderboard
- 7 teams from regional qualifiers
Group Stage 1 (27 October - 30 October):
- Two groups of eight teams each
- All matches are best-of-2
- Top 4 teams from each group advance to Group Stage 2
- Remaining teams are eliminated
Group Stage 2 (1 November - 7 November):
- One group of eight teams
- All matches are best-of-3
- Top 2 teams advance to the Upper Bracket of the playoffs
- Teams placing 3rd-4th proceed to the Lower Bracket
- Remaining teams are eliminated
Playoffs (9 November - 10 November):
- Double-elimination format
- All matches, except the Grand Final, are best-of-3
- The Grand Final will also be a best-of-3
Tiebreaker Rules:
- Tiebreaks affecting next-round positioning:
- Two teams: A best-of-3 match is played
- Three or more teams: A best-of-1 round-robin is played
- If unresolved after the round-robin, another tiebreaker round will be played
- For four or more teams, a matrix system is used, including results from tiebreak matches and group stage information
- Tiebreaks not affecting next-round positioning:
- Number of 2-0 series
- Head-to-head results
- Record against the highest-ranked team below those tied
- 1v1 tiebreaks as a last resort
This format offers high stakes with a balance between direct invites and qualifier-based entries.
