Entity’s Dota 2 captain, Dmitry «Fishman» Polishchuk, listed three heroes he believes are the best for playing in ranked matchmaking on the position five roles in the current meta. The top esports player shared his picks on the +Vibe Radio podcast.
Fishman highlighted Clockwerk and Bane as his top choices. He also included Weaver in his top 3, even though this hero, even in position five, requires expensive items. «It’s fine, let him buy them. Where and how to farm? You need to farm enemies,» noted Polishchuk.
- Clockwerk: A versatile initiator, Clockwerk disrupts enemies with Battery Assault and Power Cogs. His Hookshot enables long-range engagements, making him effective in setting up and escaping fights. His lankiness and crowd control make him a solid pick for controlling the battlefield;
- Bane: Bane excels at single-target control with abilities like Nightmare and Fiend’s Grip, which can disable key enemies for long durations. His Brain Sap offers damage and healing, making him effective in laning and team fights. Bane’s ability to neutralize threats makes him invaluable in strategic plays;
- Weaver: Though typically a core, Weaver's Shukuchi provides high mobility and invisibility, allowing for aggressive support plays. The Swarm offers vision and debuffs, and Geminate Attack adds extra harassment. With a few items, Weaver can significantly impact fights, healing allies with Time Lapse if equipped with Aghanim's Scepter.
Polishchuk’s picks showcase heroes that bring unique strengths to the support role, each contributing to team success in different ways.
