As 2024 draws to a close, professional Dota 2 players continue to make waves with bold statements and memorable moments. Once again, Gaimin Gladiators stars Quinn Callahan and Melchior 'Seleri' Hillenkamp are in the spotlight, each sharing their thoughts on the passing year.
Quinn Callahan: Team Shenanigans and a Japanese Vacation
Quinn Callahan, the mid-laner for Gaimin Gladiators, keeps his fans entertained with sharp humour. On his Instagram page, he posted a picture of his teammates with the caption "My teammates in pubs." This playful jab refers to the NPC (non-playable character) mechanic, implying that his teammates resemble bots, always found around pubs and lobbies.
Currently on holiday in Japan with fellow Gaimin Gladiators players NatTea and Cr1t, Quinn regularly shares group photos on their social media accounts.
Seleri: Year in Review and Hopes for 2025
Meanwhile, Melchior 'Seleri' Hillenkamp, also from Gaimin Gladiators, reflected on the year in a post on Twitter. He shared a light-hearted update about his suitcase, which, according to him, has worn out from the constant travel to tournaments. "My year in Dota is over, as is the lifespan of my suitcase," he wrote, adding that despite the tough year, it had been a successful one overall.
Seleri also expressed hopes for improvements in Dota 2, particularly regarding the ongoing issues with account selling and buying. He also mentioned his desire for the return of group matchmaking for high ranks, especially for duo play. His comments followed his achievement of reaching 13,000 MMR, something of a tradition among professionals to announce after hitting each new milestone.
