Sergey Posashkov, the head of Paragon Events, shared insights in an interview about the earnings of commentators and analysts in esports.
"Esports commentators certainly aren’t struggling financially," Posashkov noted. "They receive respectable pay, enough that they could tell any miner how tough their job is."
Posashkov explained that commentators are typically paid on a per-match basis. "On average, they earn between $50 and $100 per best-of-three (bo3) series. If the commentator is of a very high level, they can earn around $300 per series." He added that a commentator's rate could be higher if they have a large fan base and their presence attracts a significant audience. "In such cases, it’s not just about paying for their commentary skills; you’re paying for the additional viewers they bring."
For newcomers, earnings start at $500. For those at a middle level, the rates vary, with earnings around $700, $1700, and $2700. Posashkov summarized, "On average, a high-level commentator costs a studio about $3,000. However, commentators of the very highest level earn even more through sponsorship integrations."
Previously, Posashkov also discussed in an interview how much it would cost to build a studio with circus-themed decorations.
