Illidan: "What a crappy game 'Dota' is, Why not reset this damn rating?"

Team Spirit streamer Ilya "Illidan" Pivtsaev discussed matchmaking issues in Dota 2. He believes the game needs a rating reset because MMR doesn't reflect players' true skill levels.

"What a crappy game 'Dota' is. You have 10k MMR — you're just another thousand. Why not reset this damn rating? What's the point of all these numbers? 14k, 25k, 250k! It would really revitalize this damn game because everyone would start playing in the new season. Just reset the MMR. Or, I don't know, reset everyone with over 5k MMR... Actually, reset by ranks. Everyone with Immortal rank to 3k MMR. Others to 2k and so on. This is such a load of crap. I really want everyone's MMR reset, so there isn't even a hidden rating left," Illidan expressed.

Previously, Bogdan "Iceberg" Vasylenko proposed a similar initiative. He believes it has become too easy to boost ratings, resulting in low-skill players at high ranks.

Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov also noted the decline in matchmaking quality. He attributes this to the accessibility of MMR through double-down tokens or the high number of purchased accounts.
