BetBoom Team manager Luka 'Lukawa' Nasuashvili revealed details about the creation of the bundle for The International 2024 in Dota 2. According to him, Valve rejected three out of the six voice lines initially proposed.
The bundle was created collaboratively with their media team. They brainstormed various ideas, and while there were simpler designs involving hand gestures, they ultimately preferred the final version, which everyone agreed on.
Previously, they had emojis with brackets, which were used frequently. However, they felt that a spray would be more effective due to its convenience. One of the stickers, which was initially rated as average, was prioritised higher. Additionally, there was a phrase that wasn't included, and while Nasuashvili didn't reveal it, he mentioned that it had a very cool concept that might be added later.
Nasauashvili also designed the loading screen concept, which was implemented in various forms by the team. Despite the concept, the final image was stretched by Valve, which affected its presentation. The phrase "Don't click" appears on the "Play" button, and he hoped Valve would resize the screen to address the issue.
He expressed particular enjoyment of the Tormentor Squad loading screen, which references the film "Suicide Squad". Among the voice lines, the fourth, fifth, and sixth priorities were added, while the top three were not, possibly due to their sound or other reasons. He hinted that they might still work on those lines.
The bundles for participants of TI13 were added to the game on August 23, with the starting price set at 65 roubles. Developers will allocate 50% of sales to the teams.
The International 2024 will take place from September 4 to 15 in Denmark, with a minimum prize pool of $2.19 million. For the BetBoom Team, this will be their third world championship.
