Commentator Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov spoke in an interview about his earnings from his work in 2016.
"In 2016, I earned two thousand dollars plus a number of bonuses. For each qualification for the major, I was paid between three and four thousand, depending on the number of matches. Payments were made separately for the major and The International. I would say there was an excessive amount of money at that time. [...] My salary was around £3,500. Over time, I started to earn less because Valve stopped inviting me to various majors, and I was left with just RuHub."
