The captain of the Eastern European team Team Spirit, Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov, explained his team's defeat to BetBoom Team in the playoffs of BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024.
"Since I was solely responsible for the preparation for the match against BetBoom Team, it’s easy to point fingers. The blame lies with me. I had specific ideas about what we would draft and which heroes to prioritise.
The draft for the first game went according to plan, but we certainly could have performed better. Right from the start, I made a mistake. I was blocking a camp and slightly misclicked with the ward, so it didn’t get blocked. Because of that, I became a bit distracted, hesitated, and exposed myself. It was purely my mistake that led to the first blood.
Things didn't go well for the guys on the top lane either, but that was understandable as it was a tough matchup. The bottom lane was relatively easy and comfortable, which we could have played well. We performed decently in the first game, still finding our moments and moving effectively. Unfortunately, our fights didn’t go well; we lacked understanding at times. Perhaps due to my feed, we didn’t have the necessary tempo.
In the second game, BetBoom Team didn’t ban Enchantress. I thought we could pick her, although the initial idea was to select a different hero. BetBoom picked what I anticipated, but we already had Enchantress. So we had to improvise a bit, and ultimately, we weren’t fortunate.
Everything went off plan. This is entirely my fault. I will take this as a lesson and aim to rely more on ideas next time. Our performance was also rather lacklustre. We still lack strategies and confident heroes; we have a rather small pool. This is mainly due to our young team. However, the dynamics are quite positive, so finishing in the top four is a decent result."
BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 took place from 19 to 26 October in Belgrade, Serbia, with 12 participants competing for a prize pool of one million dollars.
