Team Spirit support Miroslaw "Mira" Kolpakov evaluated the team's position in Group A at Riyadh Masters 2024 for Dota 2. The esports player also discussed whether the team feels extra pressure from defending their championship title.
"I think our position is slightly different from what we expected. We thought we would have more victories, but it turned out this way. We had a few serious mistakes, from which we learned. We're doing fine, but not perfectly.
[Do you feel any pressure from defending the title?] No. Naturally, it's still very important for us to win the second tournament in a row because it's a lot of money. But we don't feel pressure. When we sit at the PCs and log into Dota, we think about the heroes, not about the teams we need to beat or anything else. We just think about how to outplay the enemy's composition. We try to solve this task as if it were a math problem." Miroslaw "Mira" Kolpakov said.
Spirit is tied for first place in Group A with Gaimin Gladiators, OG, and Team Falcons. All four teams have a 6-4 record. To make the playoffs, the team needs to finish in the top six of their group.
Riyadh Masters 2024 takes place from July 4 to 21 in Saudi Arabia. Teams are competing for $5 million. From Eastern Europe, the BetBoom Team is also participating in the tournament, fighting for survival in Group B.
