Miracle-'s Health Issues and Roster Changes for Nigma Galaxy

Nigma Galaxy's carry player, Amer "Miracle" Al-Barkawi, missed the final day of the group stage at ESL One Bangkok 2024 due to health issues. The team announced this on its official social media channels. Miracle was replaced by the team's coach, Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi, leading to significant roster adjustments.

In Miracle-'s absence, Syed "SumaiL" Hassan shifted from the midlane to the carry position, off-laner Tony "No!ob" Assaf moved to the midlane, and Maroun "GH" Merhej took over the off-lane. Meanwhile, KuroKy filled in as the position five support.

The team did not disclose specific details about Miracle-'s illness, but rumours have surfaced regarding a potential COVID-19 outbreak at the tournament. These suspicions were echoed by Dota 2 manager Aldar "Jamba" Dzhamzinov, who stated on Telegram:

"They say it’s COVID… staying tuned for updates."

According to the club’s official statement, Miracle-'s condition worsened during the tournament, necessitating his rest. ESL One Bangkok 2024 organisers have yet to comment on the matter. If the COVID-19 rumours are confirmed, it could pose a serious threat to the health of other participants and the tournament's continuation.

Despite these roster challenges, Nigma Galaxy remains in contention, adapting to the new lineup. ESL One Bangkok 2024, taking place from 9 to 15 December in Thailand, features 12 teams competing for a prize pool of $1 million.
