Former esports professional Johan "N0tail" Sundstein shared his thoughts on the development of Dota 2. He believes that it is challenging for developers to maintain interest in a game over a decade.
"Maintaining focus on a single project for ten years is difficult, even for large companies," said N0tail. "This explains why Dota 2 doesn’t always receive the level of attention from Valve that some fans desire"
N0tail elaborated that Valve prioritizes stability and a long-term vision over quick changes, which some might interpret as neglect. "Valve focuses on ensuring financial stability and creating a positive experience for pro players, which ultimately fosters a strong esports environment for Dota 2," he added. "While the developers aren't perfect, their emphasis on these aspects supports the sustained growth of the game," said Johan "N0tail" Sundstein.
