Alexander "Nix" Levin, a Russian content creator, reflected on what distinguishes a top team from an average one during his Twitch stream, using Astralis from Counter-Strike as an example.
He recalled observing Astralis in their prime and trying to analyse why they were so dominant. Levin noted that whenever a player from Astralis was killed, there was always an immediate trade-off. This level of team play is characteristic of top teams, where even if a player falls, the team manages to trade the kill advantageously. He emphasised that this isn’t necessarily the result of pre-planned strategies but rather a natural understanding among players who are fearless and execute their actions flawlessly.
Levin contrasted this with weaker teams, where poor positioning often results in the game relying heavily on the performance of a single player. If that player fails, the entire team’s performance suffers as a result.
Levin became the most-watched streamer on Twitch from 1 to 7 September this year, according to analytics portal Streams Charts.
