Analyst and streamer Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov discussed Nigma Galaxy's performance in the qualifiers for The International 2024 in Dota 2. In his view, Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi is one of the key reasons for the team's inconsistent performances.
"On paper, Nigma Galaxy has an incredible lineup: Miracle-, SumaiL, GH, and two others who don’t quite measure up," NS said with a laugh. "It looks like a dream team on paper. But that’s just on paper. KuroKy has been playing Dota for 20 years—I'm not joking. He’s been in the game almost as long as I have, but unlike me, he’s still on the professional scene. He started a bit later than I did, and while I’ve been out of the game for over 10 years, he’s still grinding. It’s tough to play at a high level for so many years. The others on the team aren’t getting any younger either, which is why we now have different stars emerging. These guys are still good, but they’re not at the top anymore."
Nigma Galaxy is fighting to stay alive in the Western European qualifiers for The International 2024. They are currently in the lower bracket, where there is no room for error. At 20:00 MSK on June 21, they will face PSG Quest. Throughout the season, KuroKy’s team hasn’t won a single match in the MENA region qualifiers, losing three times.
Earlier in June, NS criticized Nigma Galaxy, noting that the team hasn’t shown strong results for a while. The squad recently failed to qualify for the Riyadh Masters 2024. NS also commented specifically on the questionable level of play from Miracle-.
Nigma Galaxy’s struggles highlight the challenges of maintaining top-tier performance over long careers and adapting to evolving competitive landscapes in Dota 2.
