One of the most decorated organisations in Dota 2 history, OG, is reportedly undergoing significant restructuring. Rumours suggest that the team is grappling with internal conflicts and financial instability following the loss of a key sponsor. This insider information was shared by sources from multiple Telegram channels, including Dota Durnik and Doter's Chaos, stirring speculation about the future of the iconic team.
Insider Reports Highlight Organisational Turmoil
According to insider Ruslan Kerimov, head of the Dota section at CyberSports, OG has already begun searching for a Head of Esports and a team manager to stabilise the situation. However, uncertainty reigns within the organisation, with even staff reportedly unclear about the fate of the Dota 2 roster.
"Here’s a verified scoop from me personally—OG is in the middle of a major overhaul. They’ve already started looking for leadership roles like a Head of Esports and a team manager. Even internally, there’s little clarity about what the Dota roster will look like,"
Kerimov stated.
The loss of a major sponsor, believed to be one of their largest contributors, has exacerbated the crisis. Sponsors such as PARI, Red Bull, Wintermute, Socios, and Secret Lab have historically supported OG, but no official statement has been made regarding any recent changes in these partnerships.
N0tail’s Role in the Crisis
Legendary Dota 2 player and OG co-founder Johan “n0tail” Sundstein has also been mentioned in these reports. Insiders suggest that n0tail, once pivotal in securing high-profile sponsorships, could potentially resolve the current financial difficulties. However, he appears to be taking a step back from organisational responsibilities, reportedly enjoying a well-deserved break by the ocean.
"N0tail is the only person who could bring a sponsor back into the organisation, but he’s currently relaxing on a beach,"
an insider quipped.
