The team PARIVISION emerged as champions of the prestigious ESL One Bangkok 2024 Dota 2 tournament, defeating Team Liquid 3:1 in the grand final. This triumph earned the team $300,000 from the $1 million prize pool. The tournament, held from 9 to 15 December in Thailand, gathered the world’s best players and teams.
Crystallis: "It’s the difference in the team"
PARIVISION’s carry player, Remco "Crystallis" Arets, shared his thoughts in an interview on the team’s YouTube channel:
"It’s quite funny. If I could sum up my emotions in one word, I’d say poggers. [Carry diff?] Not with miCKe. Carry diff was with Pure~, but not with miCKe. It could have been with Pure~. Maybe with Nightfall, but not with miCKe. It’s the difference in the team, you see? Our team is strong."
Crystallis emphasised that the key to their success was the synergy within the team rather than individual player performances.
No[o]ne: "Emotions come later"
PARIVISION’s mid-laner, Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko, reflected on his feelings after this long-awaited victory, marking his first major tournament win since 2018, when he claimed the title at The Kuala Lumpur Major with Virtus.pro:
"When you win such a tournament… I don’t feel anything right now. The emotions come a day or two later. At the moment, you’re still in work mode. We turned around three hour-long matches that were nearly impossible to win. After games like that, you lose touch with reality. I don’t have emotions right now, but we’ve won a tier-1 tournament. Obviously, everyone is ecstatic. I’m in shock."
For No[o]ne, the victory at ESL One Bangkok marked a crucial milestone in his career, highlighting his return to the top tier of global esports.
Stormstormer on AVULUS’s Progress
Meanwhile, AVULUS’s midlaner, Daniel "Stormstormer" Schoetzau, reflected on his team’s performance, as they secured a top-6 finish:
"I’m really proud of how we’ve grown. We delivered a strong performance. Finishing in the top six at our first LAN event is something I’m very proud of. As for myself, I think I played reasonably well. There were games where I performed very well, but there were also games where I underperformed. I’m not 100% satisfied with my performance, but honestly, I feel that way after nearly every tournament."
Stormstormer underscored the tournament's significance as a valuable experience that strengthened his team.
