Cloud9 player Alimzhan 'watson' Islanbekov shared his thoughts on which heroes should not be picked for the carry position in Dota 2 matchmaking during his personal stream.
Islanbekov advised against picking Phantom Lancer, Spectre, Riki, and Lifestealer if you want to win. He mentioned that Drow Ranger could be viable in a good draft, but currently, the meta favours Crimson Guard users. He pointed out that Drow Ranger is not the strongest laner, farms the jungle slowly, and does not put enough pressure on the offlane. By the 16th minute, the off-laner can buy a Crimson Guard and pressure Drow Ranger, making it difficult to succeed, and teams can lose within 20 minutes.
Regarding Lycan, Islanbekov admitted he is not a Lycan player but acknowledged that the Alpha Wolves aspect is powerful. For heroes to pick to secure a win, he suggested Dragon Knight, noting that he is very strong with his fire aspect, although he has not played him much.
Previously, Islanbekov also shared his opinion on the hero Phantom Lancer.
