The esports organisation Gaimin Gladiators has released an official statement addressing the recent remarks made by their player Quinn "Quinn" Callahan.
"In light of recent events surrounding Quinn's statements during a public match, we feel it is necessary to comment directly on this situation. Gaimin Gladiators does not endorse or support these remarks, and we want to reiterate our commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere for all.
While we understand that emotions can run high during competitions, we believe Quinn's statements were not directed against the Russian people as a whole and were taken out of context. Nevertheless, Gaimin Gladiators is convinced that there is no place in esports for offensive remarks directed at any specific group of people.
Gaimin Gladiators adheres to a zero-tolerance policy regarding any forms of discrimination. We believe in fostering an environment based on respect, professionalism, and inclusivity both within our community and beyond. Quinn has received an official warning for the careless and inappropriate nature of his comments, and we will take all necessary measures to prevent such incidents from occurring again.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to uphold our standards of integrity, professionalism, inclusivity, and accountability within our organisation."
Recall that the American esports player insulted Russians during a dispute with Kazakh player and streamer Egr "egxrdemxn" Miller in Dota 2 matchmaking.
