Professional player Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok shared his thoughts on the current state of Dota 2. In his opinion, the bulk of the work in the game now falls on the supports.
"Modern Dota is about the interaction between supports. They are the only ones active on the map while everyone else is farming creeps. Do you know the difficulty of playing Mars in the offlane now? New players might not face this issue, looking at ATF. The challenge is that when you have a Blink Dagger, Black King Bar, and your ultimate, it’s hard not to use them all at once. Previously, Fominok commented on the quality of mid-players in the Dota 2 pro scene. In his view, a position one player can no longer single-handedly win a game.
Resolut1on has not been active on the pro scene since 2023. His last team was the mix Old G. After not achieving significant results with them, he took a short break from the game. In February 2024, Fominok announced that he was ready to return to the pro scene and switch to the support position, but he has yet to find a team.
