Recrent: "If you want to break into big esports in the CIS, you have two options...."

Streamer Dmitry "Recrent" Osintsev explained why he is not resuming his career as a professional esports player. He believes that in Eastern Europe, one can only pursue a professional career in two games - CS 2 and Dota 2.

"To be honest, I've thought about it, but right now it feels like there's nowhere to go. In my opinion, if you want to break into big esports in the CIS and not just play tournaments for a handful of crackers, you have only two options: CS 2 and Dota 2. For me, it seems quite challenging; there's enormous competition, and the games are quite old, with people already having a wealth of experience.

In many other games where esports exist, you have to relocate, meaning you can't play from Russia. But personally, I don't plan to break into either CS 2 or Dota 2. If I were to get back into esports, it would have to be with some new good game, and then maybe I'd try my luck there. But right now, there's nowhere specific." - Dmitry "Recrent" Osintsev

Previously, Osintsev was a professional player in PUBG. He represented Natus Vincere, Team Phantom, and other organizations. Throughout his career, Recrent earned just over $3,000 in prize money. Currently, he actively streams on Twitch.
