Former Team Secret off-laner, Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok, shared his thoughts on a potential return to the professional Dota 2 scene. During a Twitch livestream, he explained that his current rank—around 1,000—and inconsistent gameplay make it challenging to immediately rejoin at a high level.
"Lacking motivation? The reasons are obvious. I've been focusing on other areas for a while now: training, retreats, and system-building. To return, I’d need to dedicate at least three solid months, playing non-stop and grinding my rank, but I’m not able to do that right now. I also want to reach a new level, not just in esports, but in life overall."
Resolut1on last competed in 2023, playing for teams such as Team Empire, OG, Virtus.pro, HellRaisers, and Team Secret, with whom he reached the grand final of The International 2022. In 2023, he also participated with Old G and as a stand-in for BetBoom Team.
Amid Resolut1on’s reflections, another professional player, Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev, jokingly commented on his return to esports during a Twitch stream.
"Have we agreed with Team Liquid to kick SabeRLight-? Not yet. I think the process will start after New Year. Let them lose first—what if they win and I’ve already said something? Then I’ll end up being the bad guy."
RAMZES666 also shared his views on the best carries in Dota 2 history, naming Chinese player Xu "BurNIng" Zhilei as a legend, particularly from the first version of the game.
"BurNIng is, of course, a classic. XBOCT is also a tough legend of the first Dota, although it’s hard to call him the very best. As for EternaLEnVy, while he came up with a lot of innovations, his gameplay was mediocre."
He also commented on the skills of Team Spirit's young carry, Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov, who replaced Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk after The International 2024. According to RAMZES666, the team’s newcomer still lacks experience but has already demonstrated noticeable talent in professional matches.
