Russian cyberathlete Vladimir "RodjER" Nikogosian shared his thoughts on what he dislikes about the current format of The International for Dota 2. He believes that teams now play too few matches on stage.
"I remember talking to N0tail at ESL One Berlin Major 2023. I told him that there used to be more games on stage at TI, which players and spectators liked," said Nikogosian. "I recall playing in the lower bracket on stage for Team Empire. It was exhilarating. You didn't leave the group stage for nothing. Even if you were in the lower bracket, and it was a best-of-one, you played on stage. That's worth striving for. But Valve and PGL think that three days with spectators is enough. That's bad," expressed Vladimir "RodjER" Nikogosian.
The International 2024 will be held from September 4 to 15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Spectators will be able to watch matches of the best teams only during the last three days at Royal Arena.
