Shopify Rebellion's stand-in player, Jonáš 'SabeRLighT-' Volek, spoke with a Spanish-speaking studio covering Elite League Season 2 about the victory over beastcoast, playing with Christian Anthony 'Pakazs' Savina Casanova, and the team's communication dynamics.
He expressed his happiness about finally winning a series on the group stage, emphasising its importance. He noted that if they had been 0-3, it would have been discouraging, so winning felt good. He mentioned that it was a close series and he enjoyed it.
SabeRLighT- praised Pakazs, calling him a beast and saying he enjoyed playing with him. He described Pakazs as young and talented and mentioned that they share similar views on Dota. He explained that sometimes he carries the team, and other times Pakazs does. He particularly enjoyed games where Pakazs plays semi-carry on Vengeful Spirit, allowing SabeRLighT- to take on more of the carrying role.
He stated that they entered the tournament hoping to play good Dota, which was their primary goal. He hoped for a top-3 finish but emphasised that they had no fixed expectations. Their focus was on doing their best, whether they won or lost.
He noted that the communication within the team was going well, as they all spoke English. He found it cool that Pakazs watched Spanish streams, skem, and Yopaj watched streams in their native languages, and he watched in Czech. He highlighted the multicultural nature of the team.
He expressed a desire to see MOUZ, considering them a strong team, and was surprised by their poor performance in the tournament. He mentioned his fellow Czech player Supream^, noting it was always interesting to play against and beat him.
North America's Shopify Rebellion had a 2-2 series record after the second day of the Elite League Season 2 group stage, placing them in the middle of the standings.
