Vitaliy "Save-" Melnick from BetBoom Team critiqued his team’s performance in their match against Talon Esports during the first round of the lower bracket at The International 2024. He shared his thoughts during the official broadcast of the championship.
He mentioned that while the game started well, it became very tense after they lost the second map. He felt that the match, which seemed like an easy win at first, was lost due to poor play, possibly from his side. He acknowledged that when he plays poorly, the team struggles, but when he performs well, the team plays faster and more effectively.
Regarding his performance on the third map, he speculated that issues with his equipment might have been a factor. He explained that he was using an old office mouse, which costs around $5, and hadn't replaced it for about a year. He had experienced similar issues in pub games and might need to consider a replacement.
On the upcoming match against nouns, he recognised that they are a strong team, having faced them early in TI13. He noted that while their previous match was not very challenging, nouns have since improved, having defeated Spirit and taken a map off Gladiators. Consequently, BetBoom Team would prepare diligently for the next encounter.
BetBoom Team defeated Talon Esports with a score of 2:1.
The International 2024 runs from 4 to 15 September in Copenhagen. The prize pool, which is supplemented by compendium and tier sales, has reached $2.4 million at the time of publication.
