Oleg "sayuw" Kalenbet, the support player for 9Pandas, highlighted the main issues within the Dota 2 roster. He believes the players need to improve their individual skills and communication.
"I try to bring in some tricks from my previous teams," said Kalenbet. "I help a bit with drafting, suggesting, and advising where I can. I also try to call more plays during the early minutes of the game. Sometimes I argue with Solo and exchange opinions to reach a consensus. There's no specific aspect that I'm responsible for from start to finish, but I try to make my impact everywhere."
When asked about what 9Pandas needs to improve, Kalenbet emphasized, "First and foremost, it's an individual skill. Right now, all five players need to be in good personal form to compete on the professional scene. Although there are not many new players in Dota 2, teams from open qualifiers can still challenge the professionals."
He added, "Secondly, it's crucial that everyone understands how to act in various situations during the game. We need to avoid discussions like, 'Guys, what should we do?' during such moments. Thirdly, the ability to compromise, agree, and come to a common understanding is essential," proclaimed Oleg "sayuw" Kalenbet.
Sayuw joined 9Pandas in early May, replacing Vladislav "Antares" Kertman, who continued his career with Virtus.pro. With Kalenbet, the team had an unsuccessful qualification for the Riyadh Masters 2024.
The next tournament for 9Pandas will be the closed qualifiers for The International 2024, which will be held in Eastern Europe from June 14 to 18. The participants will compete for one slot at the main championship of the discipline.
