Gaimin Gladiators player Melchior "Seleri" Hillenkamp shared his thoughts after the match against nouns at The International 2024 Dota 2 tournament. In an interview on the English broadcast, he discussed what the team talked about after the first game.
He acknowledged that the team was concerned following the first map, reflecting on their experience in the lower bracket last year and how challenging it was. He mentioned that while playing nouns was much easier last year, this time it was significantly more difficult, and he praised nouns for their strong performance.
Seleri noted that they made some strategic adjustments after the first game but didn’t focus too much on discussing those changes, instead concentrating on gameplay, identifying their mistakes, and refining certain aspects of their play.
He also shared his thoughts on the upcoming match against Tundra Esports, saying it should be enjoyable. He highlighted that they hadn’t faced Tundra in a while and praised them as one of the most unpredictable teams, especially with Topson in the midlane, capable of picking unexpected heroes like Rubick.
Gaimin Gladiators won the upper bracket playoff match against nouns 2-1. In the next round, Seleri’s team will compete against Tundra Esports for a spot in the winners’ final.
The International 2024 is running from 4 to 15 September in a LAN format, with the prize pool currently standing at $2.4 million, fuelled by compendium sales and level upgrades.
