Support player for Team Falcons, Sneyking, discussed in an interview at The International 2024 about the series against beastcoast and the superstitions of Andreas 'Cr1t-' Nielsen.
On the match against beastcoast and the reasons for losing the first game:
The series was quite tense. We had a rough start, with poor strategy and execution in the first game, but we managed to adapt well in the subsequent games. After the first game, our coach gave a motivating speech that helped us reset mentally.
We invested too many resources in rotating for Medusa, which not only failed to pay off but also led to deaths that made our situation worse. Additionally, we alleviated pressure on Centaur Warrunner, allowing him to farm freely against Troll Warlord. Overall, the poor start affected our midgame.
On choosing opponents in the tiebreaker match by a coin toss rather than making their own decision:
Cr1t- from Denmark had mentioned this before. I didn't know he was superstitious, but it turns out he is. At TI11, when he was with Evil Geniuses, they emerged first in their group but then faced South American underdogs [Referring to Thunder Awaken and beastcoast]. As the tournament favourites, they lost 0-2 to both teams and were eliminated.
