Remus "ponlo" Goh from the ChineseTeam Zero discussed his team’s defeat against 1WIN from Russia in the playoffs of The International 2024 during an interview.
He explained that in the final game, they recognised potential problems with their damage output. They had hoped to extend the game until their carry was ready but acknowledged that mistakes were likely made.
Goh noted that their team had a weakness in the early game, which they had demonstrated. Their strength lies in the mid to late game, where their carry calls and team fights are more effective. He mentioned that after their matches against Team Falcons and BetBoom Team, other teams realised that their early game was a vulnerability. Consequently, even in practice matches, opponents began to increase the pace of the game when facing them.
The International 2024 is taking place from 4 to 15 September in Copenhagen, Denmark, with 16 teams competing. The prize pool for the tournament exceeds $2.5 million and continues to grow through compendium sales.
