Sweden overtakes Russia and Ukraine in number of TI winners

Following Team Liquid’s triumph at the biggest Dota 2 tournament of 2024, Sweden has now risen to second place in terms of the number of The International champions (counting individual players).

The list now includes three Swedish players – Michael "miCKe" Vu, Samuel "Boxi" Svahn, and Aydin "Insania" Sarkohi – bringing the total to eight winners from the country. This surpasses Russia and Ukraine by three champions.

The International 2024 was held from 4 to 15 September in Copenhagen, featuring 16 teams and a prize pool exceeding $2.5 million.

The most successful countries in the history of The International are:

1. China: Zhou, Ferrari_430, Faith, YYF, Hao, Mu, Banana, xiao8, SanSheng, bLink, Bach, iceice, Aventador, WhyouSm1Le.

2. Sweden: s4, Loda, EGM, Akke, AdmiralBulldog, Boxi, miCKe, Insania.

3. Russia: LighTofHeaveN, Collapse, Miposhka, Larl, TORONTOTOKYO.

4. Ukraine: Mira, Raddan, Artstyle, XBOCT, Dendi.

5. United States: Fear, ppd, Sneyking, UNiVeRsE.
