After three days of The International 2024 playoffs in Dota 2, only one team from Eastern Europe remains in the tournament — BetBoom Team. The rest were eliminated following the second round of the lower bracket.
Team Spirit, which had gone undefeated in the group stage, lost to nouns in the knockout match. Similar results were seen for other teams from the CIS region, including BetBoom Team and 1win Team. While all CIS teams advanced past the first round of the lower bracket, only BetBoom Team triumphed in the second round by defeating nouns. Spirit and 1win Team finished in 9th-12th place.
There is another team in the competition, Cloud9, which is represented by five players from the CIS region. However, Cloud9 competed in the Western European qualifiers throughout the season and is officially considered part of that region.
The International 2024 takes place from 4 to 15 September in Copenhagen, Denmark. As of this report, the prize pool stands at $2.4 million and continues to grow through compendium sales and its levels.
