The current Omniknight is an imbalanced support

After the 7.37 patch, Omniknight's win rate as a support has increased to 55–57%, compared to the 40–45% range seen before the update.

In the latest patch, several adjustments were made to shift the hero towards a support role:

- Repel now provides an immediate +60% magic resistance.

- The ultimate ability now applies in an area of effect.

- A new Aghanim's Shard was introduced: after a delay, Purification triggers again, but at 75% of its original power.

- The radius of Degen Aura was slightly increased.

- Aghanim's Scepter, the hammer, and talents were also adjusted. However, the new Shard and the magic resistance from Repel are the key changes.

Omniknight not only saves carry players money on Black King Bar but also provides significant healing during fights, making the shard a popular first or second item choice. The pure damage from Purification is also notable: 525 damage every 12 seconds can be quite impactful!

In the current meta, where aura-based Dota is prevalent, Omniknight fits into any draft with Crimson Guard and Pipe of Insight. With Arcane Boots, Solar Crest, and potentially Mekansm, allies stay alive more easily.

For laning, start with Hammer of Purity and then max Purification, taking Repel at level four.

Regarding talents:

- At level 11: +1 second duration on Guardian Angel.

- At level 15: -20 seconds cooldown on Guardian Angel, if facing significant physical damage; otherwise, choose an alternative talent.

- At level 20: +2 seconds duration on Repel.

- At level 25: +160 to healing/damage from Purification.

Although Omniknight is not yet widely played, the hero’s win rate and straightforward gameplay are quite appealing: simply apply abilities to allies and watch the rating climb. It’s possible that soon everyone will notice the potential of this new support hero!
