Valve has announced the format for The International 2024 in Dota 2. The tournament will begin with 16 teams divided into four groups, where they will compete against each other in a round-robin format. This information was released on the MOBA's official website.
Following the group stage, teams will compete for seeding in the main tournament, determining who will enter the lower bracket and who will secure spots in the upper bracket. According to the championship's official site, group announcements are expected in 10 days, likely on 1 September.
Similar to last year, the tournament will feature two main phases: "Road to The International" and "The International." The first phase will run from 4 to 8 September, while the second phase is scheduled for 13 to 16 September.
The championship will be held in Copenhagen. Sixteen teams will compete, with a base prize pool of $1.6 million.
