The International 2024 Qualifiers: Eastern Europe and South America Results

Eastern Europe Qualifiers for The International 2024

The Eastern Europe qualifiers for The International 2024 captured the attention of over 147,000 peak viewers, a substantial increase from last year’s numbers. This year's qualifiers saw more interest than those in North America and China, underscoring the region's significance in the Dota 2 competitive scene.

As a key region in Dota 2, Eastern Europe’s qualifiers for TI24 were highly anticipated. With only one spot available, the competition was intense. A major shock came with Virtus.pro, a strong favorite, being eliminated after just three matches. Natus Vincere also fell short, exiting before the finals. In a commanding performance, 1win swept 9pandas 3-0 in the finals, securing their first-ever appearance at The International. Remarkably, none of the players on the 1win roster have previously competed at TI.

The Eastern Europe qualifiers amassed 2.8 million hours of watch time, peaking at 147.8K viewers, marking a 30% increase from the previous year. This region currently boasts the highest viewership among all TI24 qualifiers, though the Western Europe qualifiers, which began on June 19, could potentially surpass these figures.

The Eastern Europe qualifiers featured popular community casters such as Nix and NS. However, the largest audience was drawn by the official Russian-language channel dota2_paragon_ru, with Russian-language broadcasts accounting for nearly 60% of the total watch hours.

South America Qualifiers for The International 2024

The South American qualifiers also showcased impressive growth, attracting more viewers than those in North America and China. With no direct invites from South America to TI24, the regional qualifiers offered two coveted spots. Teams primarily consisted of mixed Peruvian rosters, along with squads from Leviatán, NoPing Esports, and Midas Club. As anticipated, Heroic and beastcoast, the top favorites, advanced to the finals. Both teams will now represent South America at the global championship in Denmark.

In terms of viewership, South America ranks second among the regions. The qualifiers reached a peak of 76.8K viewers, surpassing last year's peak of 50.8K. This growth highlights the increasing popularity and competitive strength of the South American Dota 2 scene.

Upcoming Qualifiers: Western Europe and Southeast Asia

The final two regional qualifiers for The International 2024, covering Western Europe and Southeast Asia, will conclude on June 23. Each region has two spots available for the world championship, which will finalize the list of participants for the event.
