The latest stars of patch 7.36 are aspects and innate abilities, which have overshadowed some changes that players may have overlooked. One such change is that Yasha and Kaya now increase spell-casting speed by 25%.
This item has incredible potential. In this post, we've highlighted six heroes who benefit greatly from Yasha & Kaya. Time to add it to your quick buy!
Shadow Fiend (SF)
Yasha & Kaya are a significant reason why Shadow Fiend has made a spectacular return to the meta.
1. Versatility: As a hero with hybrid damage, SF gains a lot from this item. It boosts spell damage, provides additional movement speed, and enhances his attack. Every component fits perfectly.
2. Faster Ultimate: The increased spell-casting speed is crucial for players who love using his ultimate, Requiem of Souls. With Yasha and Kaya, the animation time is reduced to just 1.25 seconds! This means SF doesn’t need an early Hex or Abyssal, as a simple stun from support is often enough.
3. Improved Farming and Combat: Quick casting of Shadowrazes (coils) is a game-changer. It saves time when pushing waves or clearing the jungle, and this extra second can help avoid getting caught in lanes.
Axe
An often overlooked option, but Yasha & Kaya can be highly effective for Axe:
- Instant Berserker’s Call: With nearly instantaneous animation, it can catch enemies off guard, preventing them from activating Black King Bar (BKB) or using other disabling abilities. Sometimes, Axe’s Blink initiation doesn’t break the enemy's Dagger, allowing them to escape. Yasha and Kaya give him a better chance to land a successful initiation.
- Synergy with Aghanim’s Scepter: The upgrade allows Counter Helix to trigger from Axe's own attacks. Increased attack speed boosts his damage output, and Kaya enhances his ultimate, passive, and Battle Hunger.
- Easier Executions: With faster casting, enemies have less time to react with items like Satanic, invisibility, or BKB, making it easier to finish them off with Culling Blade.
Lina
Mid-Lina is gradually making a comeback. Yasha & Kaya makes her overall gameplay smoother:
- Versatile Boosts: It enhances her ability to attack, maintain positioning, move around the map, and cast spells quickly without losing precious seconds with Dragon Slave. This item is ideal for heroes with hybrid damage, and Lina fits this description perfectly.
- Build Order: Typically, players build Kaya first, then Aghanim’s Scepter, and finally add Yasha. Kaya accelerates farming, and the scepter provides immediate impact in team fights. However, Yasha and Kaya should not be overlooked and can be picked up slightly later in the build.
Earthshaker
While not typically for mid-Earthshaker, Yasha & Kaya is perfect for a position four ES in the late game:
- Mana and Damage Boost: It’s particularly useful with the Refresher Orb for the mana and damage needed for a second Fissure. Normally, Shaker struggles to lay down a second Fissure after Echo Slam because the enemies won’t come out of stun quickly enough. With Yasha and Kaya, he has the speed to manage this combo, significantly boosting his area damage.
- Efficient Fissures: The faster Fissure cast allows for more effective gameplay and easier area control.
Spirit Breaker
Yasha & Kaya remains a solid choice for Spirit Breaker (SB):
- Attack Speed and Movement: It boosts attack speed, which helps trigger his passive, and increases movement speed for more powerful Greater Bash impacts. The item also enhances his spells and provides additional mana and armor. SB has been buying this item even before patch 7.36, and it continues to be a great fit.
Tinker
Yasha & Kaya is a fantastic item for the new Tinker:
- Time Efficiency: It saves a lot of time with its faster spell animations, translating to higher damage output in fights.
- Armor and Intelligence: Yasha provides armor, which works well with the damage reduction from Defense Matrix. Kaya increases intelligence and spell damage, allowing for quicker item cooldowns, more mana, and greater overall damage.
