The incident took place in the 17th minute of the first game. The Falcons players had used a portal and were setting up an ambush for their opponents, expecting them to follow. However, 1win Team decided not to risk and did not enter the portal. Instead, Malr1ne's courier used a teleportation scroll across the map. Seeing the portal activate, ATF immediately used his entire combo, including his ultimate. The moment was considered ironic by viewers, given that earlier in the game, Assaf had called his opponents "Noob" in the global chat.
Despite this mishap, the Falcons won the first game. At the time of writing, the teams are preparing for the second game. The losing team will be eliminated from the tournament.
The International 2024 takes place from September 4 to 15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Teams are competing for a prize pool that, boosted by compendium and tier sales, stands at $2.4 million at the time of writing.
