TI participants told how to become a pro-player

Participants of the 2024 Dota 2 Championship, which concluded on 15th September with Team Liquid from Sweden taking the victory, shared their thoughts on how to become a professional Dota 2 player.

No[o]ne emphasised three key elements: passion, hard work, and talent, noting that being smart, or at least not foolish, is essential for playing Dota 2. Fly added that one must be ready to make sacrifices and give their all. Alongside being a skilled player, some luck is necessary to get noticed or meet the right people to join a professional team. Boxi highlighted the importance of thinking about the future and striving for self-improvement, not only in the game but beyond. He stressed the value of listening to criticism from those you trust or who are more experienced. Whitemon encouraged continuous improvement by climbing the ranks until reaching the top 100 or top 50. Watching streamers or professional matches can also help you learn new strategies. Silent focused on analysing one's own gameplay, reviewing replays, and studying professional matches. He believes that once players reach a high level, they must continue analysing their mistakes and learning how to fix them, something that many overlook.

Earlier, participants of The International 2024 also commented on the relatively low prize pool for the championship in Denmark.
