Day 3 of the playoff stage at Riyadh Masters 2024 kicked off with another elimination series in the Qiddiya Arena.
PSG.Quest and OG clashed in the first lower bracket round for a chance to advance into the top 8 at the $5,000,000 Dota 2 tournament, part of the Esport World Cup.
OG vs. PSG Quest
OG started strong, dominating the first game with a perfectly executed Mars-Phoenix combo. They caught PSG.Quest in the egg into the Mars arena a few times, securing a victory in under 30 minutes.
In the second game, it was PSG.Quest’s turn to make clutch plays and even the score. For the third game, OG allowed PSG.Quest to pick Tiny and Beastmaster. The MENA representatives had a diabolic plan and, with the combination of Tiny, Beastmaster, Jakiro, and Naga Siren, they closed the drafting stage. The combo power between these heroes, along with the massive amount of lockdowns, punished OG in every skirmish and team fight.
While OG heads home with a 9th-12th place finish and $100,000, PSG Quest will return to the arena on Friday, July 19, for a survival battle against Team Spirit, the defending Riyadh Masters champions.
Meanwhile, Day 3 of the playoffs continues with the upper bracket semifinals: Team Falcons vs. Gaimin Gladiators, followed by Team Liquid vs. Tundra Esports.
