Topias 'Topson' Miikka Taavitsainen of Tundra Esports shared insights into his daily routine, the significance of winning, and the team atmosphere in a video for the club's YouTube channel.
On his daily routine:
Topson explained that on a game day, he likes to stay in bed and listen to his body. If he feels the need for an extra hour of sleep, he takes it. He typically starts the day slowly, relaxing and playing some pubs. If time allows, he also enjoys a good meal, preparing himself mentally to perform at his best.
On the importance of winning:For Topson, winning is the ultimate goal and the reason they are all there. He mentioned that everyone on the team has a competitive spirit and a desire to win, a trait he has had since he began competing. To him, winning is everything.
On the team atmosphere:
Topson enjoys the team atmosphere, noting that everyone puts in a lot of effort. Every team member's opinion is valued and heard, and they are always striving to improve. He emphasised that there are no ego issues within the team, and if someone makes a mistake, it's easy to acknowledge it and look for ways to improve.
On what annoys him about teammates:
Topson mentioned that lateness is something that really bothers him, though he has become accustomed to it. In his six years in the competitive scene, there's always one or two people who are habitually late.
On the best part of being a professional esports player:
For Topson, the best part is participating in major championships and being part of tournaments like the Riyadh Masters 2024. He enjoys working hard at home or during boot camps and then competing in these significant events.
Europe Tundra Esports were defeated by MENA Team Falcons in the lower bracket semi-final of the Riyadh Masters 2024, finishing in 4th place and earning $400,000 in prize money.
