Topson will leave Dota because it's time for him to join the army

Topias Miikka "Topson" Taavitsainen of Western European team Tundra Esports might be leaving the professional Dota 2 scene following The International 2024. Commentator Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov shared this information on his personal Telegram channel, stating that Topson is expected to leave Dota 2 to fulfil his military service.

Topias Miikka "Topson" Taavitsainen, a prominent Dota 2 professional, has had a notable career marked by significant achievements. He is a two-time The International champion with OG, having won in 2018 and 2019. His career began with SFTe-sports, where he played alongside Russian player Ilya "Illidan" Pivcaev, but the team did not achieve notable success.

In 2018, Topson joined OG, which had recently undergone a major upheaval with the departure of two players. His addition was pivotal as OG went on to secure a surprise victory at The International 2018. The following year, Topson continued to excel, and OG clinched their second TI title at The International 2019 in Shanghai. Despite his relatively short professional career, Topson distinguished himself with innovative hero builds and strong performances against top players.

During the 2019/2020 season, OG underwent roster changes but Topson retained his position as the mid-laner. The revamped team resumed training in February and successfully qualified for the third Major of the season.

The International 2024 took place from September 4 to 15 in Copenhagen, Denmark, featuring 16 teams and with a prize pool exceeding $2.5 million.
