The manager of the Gaimin Gladiators Dota 2 team, Oleg "Jak2oO" Porotnikov, shared on his personal Telegram channel that Valve may have intentionally or mistakenly renamed his team.
He noted that it was an amusing situation, as PGL/Valve had decided to rename the team. He pointed out that the ban on sponsorship during broadcasts does not extend to team names, as evidenced by teams like Nouns and BB, which are also proper names of organisations. Porotnikov concluded that this seemed to be a mistake. He has started discussions about correcting it and expects the issue to be resolved, but the situation has left a lasting impression.
The International 2024 will take place from 4 to 15 September in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. The tournament will feature 16 teams, with a base prize pool of $1.6 million.
