The former carry for the Eastern European team Team Spirit, Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, has commented on his departure from the active roster.
He explained that the intense workload and lack of results over the past year led him to realise that he might not have the same drive for the upcoming season, which will feature even more tournaments. He acknowledged that his departure is not permanent but rather a break from professional Dota 2. He plans to return in the future.
Yatoro reflected on the challenges of working with the same team over several years, noting that it can lead to a sense of burnout and negatively impact results. During his time away, he intends to rest from professional Dota 2 but will continue to play casually and possibly stream.
He assured fans that the team’s future is in good hands with Dima leading, and urged people not to send offers, as he is not currently interested.
For context, Team Spirit placed 9th-12th at The International 2024 and also reached the top 8 at the Riyadh Masters 2024.
