Advice to young esports athletes from Lil

Support player Ilya "Lil" Ilyuk reflected on what esports players need for a successful career. In his opinion, they need to learn English, manage finances wisely, and take care of their health.

"I believe that these things can be considered fundamental not only for esports players but for every individual in general.

Firstly, proficiency in the English language. If you speak English well, you can play for almost any team from any region. You can build and subsequently monetize an English-speaking audience, and you will have many more options to find a job when your career hits a dead end.

The second thing is financial literacy. If you have a head on your shoulders, earning money isn't difficult. It's much harder not to lose it. And it's even better to invest it wisely and multiply it.

And finally, understanding the importance of physical health. The human body is not meant to sit in front of a computer for 10 hours every day. This is what professional esports players do every day for years. From my own experience, the body's resources are depleted around the age of 25. If you don't maintain excellent physical shape, many spinal problems will arise over time. And life becomes quite painful." - Ilya "Lil" Ilyuk

Earlier, Ilyuk mentioned the approximate salaries of esports players. According to him, members of top teams can earn around $20,000 per month.
