Ahilles about Kyzko in Secret

Timur 'Ahilles' Kulmukhambetov, coach of 1win, shared his thoughts on the new Team Secret roster and their bid for qualification to PGL Wallachia Season 2 in his personal Telegram channel.

According to Kulmukhambetov, Clement seems to have a particular preference for Russian-speaking position 4 players. When news surfaced that Team Secret would be undergoing a full roster change, he reviewed the leaderboard. Shad appeared to be the most obvious choice.

For position 1, there are hardly any options from Europe. Nande is a potential candidate, but in the future, they might strengthen the position with a high-ranking player from the CIS, like Kiritych. It’s important to step out of one's comfort zone.

For position 3, there were two options: a young player from the CIS and Toby (which sounds like a quote from the TV series "The Office"). It seems Toby was considered the more reliable choice, and Clement might not be willing to accommodate too many CIS players.

Position 2 has been occupied by Adzantik in tier 2-3 stacks for a while. Kulmukhambetov suggested that this position might be revisited shortly if a stronger candidate emerges.

For position 4, Kuzko has been added. Kulmukhambetov recently noticed Kuzko's significant rank climb. Kuzko was an old teammate from 2018 or 2019, and Kulmukhambetov wished him luck. It seems that there are no issues in Dota preventing a return to competitive play after many years, as long as there is desire.

At the start of the previous season, the Team Secret roster with MidOne and Yamić seemed promising. They qualified for a high-tier tournament and gained points. However, things deteriorated afterwards, making a roster overhaul a sensible idea. It was seen as a final attempt, as Puppey is constrained by his organisation and can only assemble a roster around himself. The +1 format is unlikely to reach super high-tier success unless he takes on a coaching role, or perhaps joins a team like Tundra, though that would involve too many individuals with their own opinions. OG would not accept him with Seb and Notail. The logic is clear.

We'll have to wait and see. Previously, Russia's Arseniy 'ArsZeeqq' Usov wrote about the habit of Estonian player Puppey to recruit Russian-speaking players for position 4.
