During a personal Twitch stream, Ilya "ALOHADANCE" Korobkin, a content creator and former professional Dota 2 player from Ukraine, explained why he currently avoids playing core roles in Dota 2 matchmaking.
"I really struggle with playing mid these days," ALOHADANCE admitted. "I'm very weak when it comes to playing core. Right now, I'm worse at the core than almost any player with 2000 MMR, maybe even many with 3000 MMR. I’m just not at that level anymore. I lack the practice needed to play core roles effectively. Sometimes, I watch how these 2000 MMR players perform, and I realize that they are better at core roles than I am."
