The carry for the BetBoom Team, Yegor Nightfall Grigorenko, has changed his in-game nickname to Saika. The player registered with the new alias on the official Dota 2 website. The team's manager, Luka Lukawa Nasuashvili, humorously commented on the change.
He remarked that they were heading to the International with a new carry, marking the end of an era, and playfully asked if the haters were satisfied.
Previously, carry player Ilya Raddan Mulyarchuk of Team Spirit, formerly known as Yatoro, also changed his nickname in Dota 2. He mentioned that he chose his new alias after watching streams of Elden Ring, named after one of the bosses called Radahn, the Starscourge. The two-time International champion also offered an alternative origin for his new nickname and noted that he would not be using it permanently.
